Home Learning
Staff at SWB are working hard to bring home learning in line with their classroom- based curriculums. Our aim is to build a culture of independent practice to ensure that our students continue to learn beyond the classroom.

On the final day of term we celebrated the variety of cultures present amongst our SWB Community with a range of activities including allowing students to wear clothing that reflected their background, and a range of performances on Attwood floor.
In our final week of term we were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Wolverhampton, visiting our productions for a second year running to see our latest whole school production, "Beauty and the Beast". She was very complimentary of the talent on display!

We all know how important breakfast is in our diet. Unfortunately, for some of young people this is sometimes missed for a variety of reasons. That’s why this funding was so important in further supporting the Academy’s aim to ensure that no student goes into an exam hungry.

Yesterday we had the privilege of hosting the "Ormiston's Got Talent" regional semi final, and we had two of our students, Darius and Anna, performing in the semis. Both students are multi-talented, not only showcasing brilliant vocalists, but unique songwriting talents, with both creating their own songs for the performance.
tudents of Year 9 and 10 took part in a dynamic performing arts workshop where they had the exciting opportunity to learn choreography from Les Misérables. Guided by West End star Elle Ann Lowe from West End on Demand.
Our Year 9 Students took part in a Duke of Edinburgh In school training day. This was in preparation for their expedition at Cannock Chase in June.

We were thrilled to see Year 9 Student Andrew Pecincu-Holban and Year 13 student, Anita Chopra sworn in as they begin their role as Youth Councillor as part of Wolverhampton's Youth Council for 2024-2025.

11th November is Remembrance Day and, as every year, the academy fell silent at 11.00am to honour the lives lost in service of our country.

Students and staff at Ormiston SWB Academy are giving back to their community through fundraising to help Acorns Children’s Hospice Charity continue its important work across the West Midlands.

Calling all year 11 students! Our 6th Form Open Evening takes place on Thursday 10th October, between 5 and 7pm for students who are due to start their post-16 studies in September 2025.
