Mr Mason runs the London Marathon!

As many of you will know our Principal, Mr Mason ran the London Marathon yesterday morning. He had a message for the SWB community:

“As I stand on the start line for the second time at the London Marathon, I am ecstatic to announce that we have gone past the £7000 fund raising mark this year. What makes this more special is that fact that we have now raised well over £21,000 for Cancer Research- a charity very close to mine and many of our hearts.

I thank my family and friends for their ongoing support, but more so the community I serve that is Ormiston SWB Academy.

Since the passing of one of our former pupils Alexen, the community as a whole have come together in true ‘Bilston fashion’ to demonstrate a commitment to a cause which affects so many.

The pupils, parents/carers, wider families and of course my wonderful colleagues have been my biggest supporters in this journey to raise such an amount.

Today as my body will scream with agony, it will be all of those mentioned above and the memory of Alexen that gets me over that line.”
