“And just like that, our “School of Rock” journey is over. A journey that started back in 2019… gearing up for a 2020 show that never quite got its moment thanks to COVID.️ But after both amazing performances there is no doubt that it was worth the wait.
Huge congratulations to our leads Darius and Bonnie for Cast A, and Reagon and Lizanne for Cast B, all of them are true stars at the top of their game, giving out so much energy despite the ridiculous heat!
Work started on this production back in Summer 2025, and we would not have made it to the finish line without the help of Mr Tipton — show week hero: keeping everyone cool in a heatwave, stopping meltdowns (literal and emotional), and being a shoulder to cry on, and even saved the day when the mics broke down. Absolute legend! Thanks also to Mr Kibby, whose “Kibbymania” vocals sessions will be remembered for a very long time!
Massive shout to the backstage team — Sixth former Sophie Vincent leading the charge, the dream team Sam and Troy on lighting, newcomer Lacie on spotlight, Keegan on sound, and of course Annabel battling those temperamental mics… and so many others going above and beyond.
To our Dewey’s — hundreds of pages of lines, almost a years worth of hard graft. Darius smashing it even in a second language, and Regan, a star with zero ego.
He was always the first to ask, “How can I help?” (even that may be to get out of lessons!)

Thanks also must go to Anna and Isabel — our incredible student directors keeping everything on track. Rebecca — turning my vague dance ideas into amazing choreography, all with calm and positivity. She is also a demon on the bass!

Just when we thought it was all over, Mr Mason and Mr Kibby offered us one more show where we could perform (on the hottest day of the year!) an extra special reward show to a large group of students who were in school despite the heatwave. This was extra memorable as, due to student shortages, a number of the roles were played by stand-in’s, former students and even Mr Tipton and myself got chance to play roles in an experience that we will all remember forever.
I could talk all day about each and every performer who has given it all through this almost year long process, and how they have come into their element over show week, but I think Dewey Finn himself summed it up best when he said :
“They’re all really cool kids. If they were mine, I’d be so proud. I am proud.”
Couldn’t agree more.
ROCK ON!” – Mr Stevens, Director of “School of Rock”
