Hard work pays off for students on GCSE results day

GCSE results day has brought celebrations to Ormiston SWB Academy as Year 11 students reflect on their achievements and look towards the future.

We are celebrating the achievements of its students, who have shown resilience and ambition throughout their studies and are now preparing to take their next steps in education, training or employment.

This year’s cohort achieved success across a wide range of subjects, with encouraging outcomes for all students. The results reflect the students’ determination, the dedication of staff and the invaluable support of families.

The whole school community has come together today to mark the students’ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they look ahead to the next stage of their education.

While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:

• Harsh who achieved grade 9s in English language and chemistry, a combination of six grade 8s and 7s, and a Level 2 Distinction* in engineering.
• Caitlyn who secured a grade 9 in geography, grades 9 and 8 in combined science, grade 8s in English language, maths and art, alongside strong results in English literature, computing and music.
• Kyla who received grade 9s in combined science, as well as grade 7s in English language, geography and history.
• Lottie who was named as one of the top-performing students nationally in Cambridge OCR’s GCSE Art and Design, an impressive national recognition for her hard work and talent.
