Our Sixth Form Centre has been designed with you in mind, giving you the freedom to study independently, collaborate with friends, relax between lessons, and feel part of a professional community.

Alongside modern classrooms, you’ll have access to a wide range of dedicated spaces just for sixth formers.

Study Spaces

You’ll find a mix of different study areas to suit your needs:

  • Study booths for individual focus
  • Round tables for group collaboration
  • Quiet zones and study rooms for silent, independent work
  • Focus Time spaces downstairs for supervised study sessions

Whether you prefer to work quietly on your own or with others, there’s always a space that works for you.

Common Room

Our common room is your place to unwind, catch up with friends, or work in a more relaxed setting. With couches, tables, and open spaces, it’s a hub for social and community life at SWB6th.

And yes — on reward afternoons, we even bring out the football table and pool table.

Kitchen & Refreshments

We provide a dedicated kitchen space just for sixth formers, equipped with a microwave, kettle, and fridge. You can prepare your own food, make hot drinks, and enjoy your breaks in comfort.

  • Canteen access is also available downstairs in the main academy building.
  • With parent/carer consent, students are also allowed off-site at lunchtime.

Library

A brand-new Sixth Form Library is currently being developed downstairs, giving you access to resources, academic texts, and a quiet place to read or study.

Sports Facilities

As a sixth former, you will continue to benefit from the academy’s full range of sports facilities — both indoor and outdoor.

This includes:

  • A fully equipped fitness suite on site, available for student use
  • Access to the sports hall, courts, and pitches
  • Opportunities to take part in enrichment such as sports leadership, coaching, and fitness clubs

Whether you want to keep active, train for performance, or just enjoy exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle, our facilities give you everything you need.

Support & Guidance Spaces

We want you to always feel supported and know exactly where to go if you need help, advice, or just a space to sort something out. The Sixth Form Centre is designed with that in mind:

  • Sixth Form Reception – located downstairs, this is your first stop for any questions or queries.
  • Pastoral Lead Office – right next to reception, always open if you need support or guidance.
  • Miss Dutton & Miss Robbins’ Offices – upstairs in the Sixth Form Centre, where you can drop in for advice, mentoring.
  • Careers Adviser’s Office – also upstairs, for one-to-one meetings about university, apprenticeships, or employment.
  • Safeguarding Access – support is always available through the main academy safeguarding team if you ever need it.
  • Lockers – available upstairs to keep your belongings safe.
  • Printing Facilities – available for coursework, assignments, and resources.
