How KS5 Lessons Are Different

Lessons are more discussion-based, with opportunities to debate, question, and think critically.
You’ll be expected to take greater responsibility for your own learning, both in and outside of class.
Teachers act as subject experts and guides, supporting you to work with independence and depth.

Independent & Flipped Learning

We use a flipped learning approach: you will often prepare before lessons (reading, research, or watching short videos) so that class time can focus on deeper understanding and problem-solving.
This style mirrors university learning, giving you the skills to take charge of your progress.
Independent study isn’t “extra” — it’s a core part of your programme, designed to build habits of curiosity, resilience, and self-motivation.
