Ormiston SWB Academy celebrates new facilities with local MP Pat McFadden

Ormiston SWB Academy, part of Ormiston Academies Trust, was delighted to welcome Pat McFadden, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and Member of Parliament for Wolverhampton South East, to officially open its brand-new school building.

The opening marks an exciting milestone for the academy, which continues to go from strength to strength as it expands to meet growing demand for school places in the local area. The new building forms part of a major development project that will allow an additional 150 pupils to attend their local secondary school by September 2026.
During his visit, Mr McFadden met with students and staff to discuss how future investment could benefit both the school and the wider community. Students spoke with confidence and insight, sharing thoughtful ideas and demonstrating a strong commitment to making a positive difference.

The event was a celebration not only of the academy’s impressive new facilities, but also of its ongoing commitment to providing every young person with an excellent education, enriching opportunities, and the support they need to thrive.
Dan Mason, Principal of Ormiston SWB Academy, said:
“We were honoured to welcome Mr McFadden to officially open our new building. This development is an exciting milestone for the academy and will allow even more young people in our community to access a high-quality education close to home.
“I’d like to thank our students, staff and families for their continued dedication and support. Their commitment makes achievements like this possible, and we’re looking forward to all the opportunities this new facility will bring”.
