SWB celebrates this GCSE results day

Ormiston SWB Academy was full of celebration this morning as Year 11 students collected their GCSE results, many achieving outcomes that open doors to future success.

Based on Dudley Street and part of Ormiston Academies Trust, the academy continues to deliver high standards through a focus on resilience, character and academic excellence – values that were clearly reflected in today’s results.

The Year 11 cohort have achieved some excellent results this year, with particular strengths in English and mathematics. The whole school community has come together today to mark the students’ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they now prepare to take their next steps in education.

While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:

  • Lily Etchells who achieved grade 9s in biology, chemistry, English language, history, mathematics and physics, alongside strong grade 8s in computing, English literature and French
  • Lucy Richards who secured a grade 9 in mathematics, strong grade 7s in English language and French, a grade 6 in English literature, alongside Distinction* in ICT and a Merit in health & social care. They also secured a double grade 9 in combined science
  • Teagan Lloyd who is celebrating after receiving a grade 8 in English language, a grade 8 in history and grade 7s in mathematics and sciences, alongside a Distinction* in child development
  • Charmaine Stewart who obtained a grade 8 in English language, history and art, grade 7s in sciences alongside a grade 6 in mathematics
  • Blake Western whose hard work has secured him a grade 8 in English language, mathematics and geography and grade 7s in business and art
  • Lexi-Mae Davies who achieved a grade 7 in English language, English literature, mathematics, science and French, alongside a grade 8 in history
  • Kartik Pathak, who after arriving in the UK in the summer of 2024, achieved a grade 8 in mathematics and science, alongside grade 6s in English language, English literature, geography and business
  • Brooklyn Anderson who has overcome adversity to achieve strong grade 7s in English language and English literature, a grade 5 in mathematics, a grade 5 and 4 in science, alongside a Distinction in engineering
