On Wednesday 22nd May, 3 former students (Gugan Gill, Viktorija Safonova and Sukhdev Bains) were invited to Buckingham Palace to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Certificates from His Royal Highness Prince Edward.

The three had an amazing day and all got to speak directly to Prince Edward making the day even more special.

Having been through all three awards, this occasion marks the end of a program which they started when they were in year 9, 6 years ago!

Well done to all those that have persevered through the challenges and completed their awards!

Gugan and Sharan are also engaging on their next adventure…

“On 25th May 2019, the two of us and six other adventurous ladies are planning on completing the 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of Save The Children, which aims to help the most deprived and marginalised children by fighting for their rights and their lives. We will be spending 24 hours travelling between and hiking Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon; the ultimate race against time!
Our decision to take on this challenge originated from our love for the outdoors and the urge to always be pushing and bettering ourselves. During our time in Sixth Form we loved helping to organise charity events and now being on our gap year we have decided this is the perfect opportunity to challenge ourselves and raise some money. Donations of any size would be hugely appreciated!
Thank you very much, Gugan and Sharan”.
