Breakfast is served for Year 11!

We all know how important breakfast is in our diet. Unfortunately, for some of young people this is sometimes missed for a variety of reasons. That’s why this funding was so important in further supporting the Academy’s aim to ensure that no student goes into an exam hungry.

Principal Dan Mason said: “I was delighted to hear that our grant application was a success. It means so much to our Year 11 students to be able to eat and drink something before going into their mock exams. Too often some students arrive without having breakfast and there is a clear link between eating and learning.  I would like to thank Mr Kibby who has worked hard on this project to enable our students to receive this at a vital time in their preparation for their exams.”

Hayley Walker, One Stop Community Partnership Officer, said: “It was a pleasure to see that Ormiston SWB Academy was able to fund breakfast for their Year 11s before the mock exams. Our One Stop Community Partnership Programme is designed to support local communities that we serve.”
