Local MP visits Careers Event!

On Thursday 21st October some of our Year 7 and 8 students took part in a careers activity with some local employers. They learnt about stereotyping, and that you cannot guess a person’s job based on appearance (great guesses though!) They learnt about peoples jobs and worked together in teams to make a presentation for the rest of the group. This helped them to work on essential employability skills such as leadership, presentation skills and working in a team.

We also had a special visitor, Shadow Minister for Apprenticeships and Lifelong Learning, Toby Perkins MP who spent some time with the Year 7 students and shared his experiences of life as an MP. All of the students did an excellent job asking great questions and presenting back to the group.
