Exam Results

Students at Ormiston SWB in Bilston celebrated their GCSE results, enabling them to embark on the next chapter of their education.

Staff and students joined together to celebrate the many achievements, at the end of what has been another unusual year in light of COVID-19 and the cancellation of examinations.

Despite this, the academy, which is sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), has seen continued success with some of the standout individual achievements including:

  • Arjun Mandair who achieved a Grade 9 in History, English Literature and Language, Geography, Mathematics and Biology, as well as Grade 8s in Chemistry and Physics, and a Distinction * in PE and Business Studies, amongst a number of other high grades.
  • Amy Simcox secured a Grade 9 in English Literature and Language, History, Mathematics and Biology, as well as Grade 7s in Physics and Chemistry and a Distinction * in P.E. and Business Studies.
  • Kyle Edwards, who worked remotely through Microsoft Teams for the entire of his Year 11 studies as he ne needed to protect family members by isolating, achieved some brilliant results including a Grade 7 in Maths, Grade 6 in Art, Grade 5s in English and Computing and a Merit in Level 2 Engineering and P.E.

Our students have worked incredibly hard over the last two years which has led them to earning these hugely deserved results. We are really pleased to be able to celebrate the achievements of all our students today. I would like to thank our whole school community, including our students, their families and our brilliant team of staff for all of their hard work, commitment and support throughout the last year, which has led to our 2021 cohort achieving strong results which will enable them to embark on their exciting next steps.
